PCN Additional Mental Health Service

Our in-house Mental Health Practitioners offer a first contact assessment service, bookable via reception, as well as providing follow-up counselling sessions and therapy for patients assessed as suitable. There's no need to see your GP first. 
Patients between 8-18 years old can be seen by Victoria.
The PCN Mental Health Team provide initial assessment appointments for patients contacting their GP Reception team with:
·        New mental health concerns
·        Anxiety
·        Depression
·        Stress
·        Anger
·        ADHD – new presentation
·        Autism – adults only
·        Children aged 8 - 18years old (Victoria only)
·       Patients already known to mental health services but lost to follow up
·        Patients waiting for 1st appointment with mental health services but struggling to cope
·        OCD
·        PTSD
·        Coping with impulsivity
·        Bereavement
·        Insomnia
·        Relationship stress

Mental Health Link Worker - Victoria Robertson

Role Overview - 
Victoria is a Mental Health Social Prescribing Link Worker and provides support for patients to look after their own mental health; supporting patients to join groups, find new opportunities, learn a new skill, meet people, address concerns with housing and finance in relation to mental health; assists patients to find activities in their local area that can help improve mental health and support patients to connect with their local community and other people to help manage any mental health issues.
 
She provides counselling and trauma therapy assessments and sessions.

Mental Health Counsellor - Sarah Williams

Role Overview 

Acts as inhouse Mental Health first contact mental health practitioner providing initial assessments of those seeking support with a mental health concern. Brief interventions and short number of follow ups initially can be provided, or signposting and referral to appropriate clinical services. 
Sarah is an experienced integrative counsellor offering a person-centred approach. She offers talking therapy, but uses mixed approaches e.g. CBT. 
Sarah will tailor-make therapy styles to suit the individual's needs. She can work with a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression/low mood, sexual trauma, self-esteem/confidence issues.
She is approachable and offers a safe space to support clients to explore their mental health struggles and ultimately endeavours to make things feel more manageable. 

Qualifications:Level 5 diploma in Psychotherapeutic counselling
